Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1983 by vocalist Nick Cave, t Mick Harvey and guitarist Blixa Bargeld.

The album, Cave’s 16th with his longstanding backing band and his first studio album since 2013’s chart-topping Push the Sky Away, is set to be released on 9 September, while the accompanying documentary, One More Time With Feeling, will be shown in 650 cinemas around the world on 8 September.

Push the Sky Away was produced by Nick Launay and recorded at La Fabrique, a recording studio based in a 19th Century mansion in the South of France, where the walls of the main studio are lined with an immense collection of classical vinyl. A new multimedia project from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds is on the way. The long-running Australian band will release a studio album called Skeleton Tree on Sept. 9, preceded by a feature film called One More Time With Feeling. The Andrew Dominik-directed film will launch globally on Sept. 8 for one night only, giving fans their first chance to hear any of the new music, according to Cave’s official site. Interwoven throughout the Bad Seeds’ filmed performance of the new album are interviews and footage shot by Dominik, accompanied by Cave’s intermittent narration and improvised rumination. Filmed in black-and-white and colour, in both 3D and 2D, the result is stark, fragile and raw, and a true testament to an artist trying to find his way through the darkness.
