The Kinks Greatest Hits! was the first compilation album released in the US by British rock group The Kinks in 1966. The album consists of some of the most popular singles and songs released by the Kinks since 1964. It is the only Kinks album to reach the US top 10 peaking at Stereo Pressing: All tracks are electronically processed Stereo with added reverb. The 1965 single "See My Friends" was not included on the album as, despite reaching on the UK charts, it only made in the US.

The Kinks – Greatest Hits. Not bad for a single tat flopped everywhere else. When The Kinks made their UK Comeback with 'Lola', it was almost like 'business as usual' in The Netherlands, where it went straight to feat repeated in 1980 with the live version (not on this album). Some of the tracks on this album are a bit of a mystery as of why they were put on this compilation. It is possible that 'Dancing In The Street' and 'Stop Your Sobbing' were added to the tracklist because the Dutch know the versions of Mick jagger & David Bowie, The Pretenders respectively
Along with The Live Kinks, it was the sole showcase for the band's early work in the United States for those same 20 years, and it did its job well as far as it went, opening with that rock & roll punch in the chest "You Really Got Me" and advancing from there.
