VOX Magazine - October 1992 TOM ROBINSON Living In A Boom Time (Cooking Vinyl COOK CDO52). Across eleven tracks, recorded live on tour in Ireland earlier this year, Tom Robinson reinvents himself as a solo folk singer. Such a shift in emphasis may well prompt the agitprop fraternity to accuse him of going soft politically but, for the rest of us, Living In A Boom Time is Tom Robinson's most appealing album in years. released February 3, 2013. Guitar, keyboard & vocals by Tom Robinson Guests: Ciaran Wilde, sax on War Baby Peter Stewart, backing vocal on Back In The Ould Country.

Living in a Boom Time. Overview (current section).

Tom Robinson was born into a middle-class family in Cambridge on 1 June 1950. He attended Friends' School, Saffron Walden, a co-ed privately funded Quaker school, between 1961 and 1967. Robinson has two brothers and a sister: Matthew (former executive producer of BBC One's EastEnders and Byker Grove, currently running Khmer Mekong Films in Cambodia), George and Sophy. At the age of 13, Robinson realised that he was gay when he fell in love with another boy at school. Until 1967, male homosexual activity was still a crime in England, punishable by prison. Having It Both Ways released: 1996. Love Over Rage released: 1994. Living in a Boom Time released: 1992. Back in the Old Country released: 1989. Live: Midnight at the Fringe released: 1987.
