On March 4, 2010, it was announced that another song featuring Myles Kennedy, entitled "Back from Cali," was added to the album's track listing at the last minute, making Kennedy the only person to be featured on more than one song on the album's standard track listing. Slash also announced that Izzy Stradlin is the only other person who played guitar on the record, performing rhythm guitar on the song "Ghost," featuring Ian Astbury  . As of April 18, 2010 the album has gone gold in Australia. The second single, after "By the Sword," was "Back from Cali". Slash during a concert in Rome in July 29, 2011.

Living the Dream is Slash's fourth solo album, the third to feature Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Slash released it September 21, 2018, on his own record label: Snakepit Records. The album was produced by Michael Baskette, who also produced the previous record World on Fire. After reuniting with Guns N' Roses in 2016, the possibility of a third record for Slash and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators was in question, let alone if they would stay together.

Slash isn't coming off the road anytime soon. Fresh off a world tour with his band the Conspirators in support of their most recent LP, World on Fire, he's just added another round of shows that will keep him in front of fans throughout September and October. The new dates begin Sept. 18, when Slash and the Conspirators travel to Providence, . and continue until Oct. 24, when this leg of the tour wraps with a performance in Temecula, Calif.
