Looking East is the eleventh album by American singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1996 (see 1996 in music). It peaked at number 36 on The Billboard 200. Coming over two years after his successful I'm Alive, Browne returned to more politically and socially oriented themes on Looking East. Guests include Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby, Vonda Shepard, Ry Cooder, Waddy Wachtel and David Lindley.
For Everyman is the second album by American singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1973 (see 1973 in music). The album peaked at number 43 on the Billboard 200 chart and the single "Redneck Friend" reached number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2003, the album was ranked number 457 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Looking East - Jackson Browne. Not one of his best, but up there among the kind of good ones. The Barricades of Heaven' and 'Nino' are excellent tracks, as is the title track. There are a couple of weak ones, but that's not too bad. The whole album is much less folky and West Coast than his earlier ones, and moves along quite well, if that is what you want. And it's not so political as the mid-period 'Lives in the Balance' and 'World in Motion'. I enjoy it, and I am sure you will too.
