Jazz Impressions of Japan is a 1964 album by The Dave Brubeck Quartet. It was recorded on June 16–17, 1964 at the legendary CBS 30th Street Studio, except for "Zen Is When" which was recorded on January 30, 1960. It was released on August 10, 1964. The album, as the back cover of the remastered CD confirms, had been long out-of-print until it was reissued on CD in 2001, then re-released in 2008 and 2009.

In 1958, the Dave Brubeck Quartet, one of the most popular jazz groups in the world, played 80 concerts in 14 countries during a three-month period. To salute the marathon road trip, the pianist/leader composed six songs for a new recording (which is now out on this CD). "Nomad" and "Brandenburg Gate" are the best-known originals but all of the other selections are equally enjoyable, featuring fine solos from Brubeck and altoist Paul Desmond.

Jazz Impressions of Eurasia is a live album by pianist Dave Brubeck and his quartet recorded on their 1958 world tour sponsored by the American state department in which they played 80 concerts in 14 countries in three months.

It would be followed by Jazz Impressions of Eurasia (1958); Jazz Impressions of Japan (1964) and Jazz Impressions of New York (1964). All of the compositions from Jazz Impressions of . were new works by Dave Brubeck. As a bonus to this rarely heard gem, the label has added two more Brubeck tracks which have never appeared before on CD (both were issued only on separate long out of print LP compilations): 'Two Sleepy People' and 'Pilgrim's Progress'. The Dave Brubeck Quartet is rightly regarded as one of the great ensembles of its time. This album certainly belongs in the Brubeck fan's collection. It demonstrates the continuing creative Brubeck-Desmond jazz sound of the mid 1950s. And it never ceases to please.
