What So Not is an electronic music project by Australian record producer Emoh Instead (stage name by Christopher John Emerson), and formerly a duo with record producer Flume. What So Not has toured the world, playing in various festivals, including Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Pukkelpop, Ultra Music Festival and Lollapalooza. What So Not is best known for his hits such as "Gemini" (featuring George Maple), "Jaguar", "High You Are" and "Tell Me" (with RL Grime).
The album received support from this site New Music Friday (in 5 different territories) as well as Billboard, Forbes, NYLON, Mixmag, SPIN, Paste and more. The album featured collaborations with huge names in the dance world and beyond including Skrillex, Toto, San Holo, SLUMBERJACK and Rome Fortune, among others. The first single from Not All The Beautiful Things, Be Ok Again - a collaboration with Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, which garnered close to 6 million collective streams to date - marked the first time What So Not wrote and performed vocals himself. In 2018 What So Not played over 150 festivals and headline dates across 43 countries including India, China, Europe, Australia, North America and South America. Festival stops included Lollapalooza South America and Chicago, Ultra Music Festival, and Bonnaroo.

Aussie producer What So Not (real name Chris Emerson) has announced his long-awaited debut album, while revealing a new track from the record. Not All The Beautiful Things will be released on 9th March, and it features a huge array of guests, including Skrillex, Rome Fortune, San Holo and Silverchair’s Daniel Johns, who featured on Emerson’s last single ‘Be Ok Again’. Surprisingly, it also features iconic American rock band Toto, whose hit song ‘Africa’ has been a staple of Emerson’s live sets for years.
What So Not recruited some inspired guests and fellow Aussies for the album, resulting in a pleasant journey through different pockets of electronic dance featuring a handful of synth throbbers and pretty electronic soundscapes. blue highlight denotes track pick.
