Robert Arthur Mould (born October 16, 1960) is an American musician, principally known for his work as guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for alternative rock bands Hüsker Dü in the 1980s and Sugar in the 1990s. Born in Malone, New York Mould lived in several places, including the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area where he attended Macalester College. There, he formed Hüsker Dü in the late 1970s with drummer/singer Grant Hart and bass guitarist Greg Norton.
Bob Mould (sometimes referred to as Hubcap) is the third solo album by former Hüsker Dü and Sugar guitarist and singer Bob Mould. It was recorded and mixed between September & November 1995 and released in April 1996.
Bob Mould announced that his new album 'Sunshine Rock' will arrive in February 2019 and unveiled the LP's optimistic title track. Bob Mould has announced that his new album Sunshine Rock will arrive in February 2019. The album marks the former Hüsker Dü rocker’s first since 2015’s Patch the Sky as well as his first since moving to Berlin two years ago. Almost four years ago, I made plans for an extended break, Mould said in a statement. I’ve heard this thing about ‘guitars are dead’ at least five times, and they always seem to come back, Mould added of his new album, whose sound harkens back to his Sugar days. For better or worse, this is what I do. I think there’s a lot of people trying to aspire to make great albums. That’s really what this is about: trying to make great rock albums for people because there’s not that many anymore. Bob Mould Tour Dates.

Bob Mould's first solo album in six years (following the demise of Sugar) is unremittingly dark, direct, and brilliant. Entirely self-written, -performed, and -produced, the 11-song collection opens with Mould bellowing that he's 'sick of myself, sick of everything I am' and ends with: 'If I couldn't hold you I'd end it al. That last song is called 'Roll Over and Die,' if that helps provide a sense of the situation. In between, Mould rails with brutal bluntness about his personal and creative strife. Perhaps writing his autobiography put Bob Mould in a nostalgic mood, as The Silver Age - arriving roughly a year after See a Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody, co-written by Michael Azerrad - surges forth with a molten, melodic energy unheard in Mould's music since the days of Sugar. It's no coincidence Mould introduced The Silver Age by performing Copper Blue in its entirety during a series of summer concerts in 2012: it is the forefather of this roaring blast of overdriven pop.
