Lightning Bolt (also known as The Yellow Record or The Yellow Album) is the eponymous debut album by noise rock band Lightning Bolt. Originally, five of the tracks on the album were recorded in the studio, however, with the exception of one track, the band discarded these and instead put low fidelity live versions of the songs on the record.

This was made with a bass guitar. Fucking HOW. One of the nosiest and off the wall 'bass and drum' projects i've heard in a while. Some of the sounds here are genuinely out of this world. The drumming is wild and intesly precise.

Recorded at The Parlour in July of 2000Mastered in Boston at Peerless.
There are several presses. The first press copies were housed in a foldout screenprinted sleeve. Of these most were on black vinyl but an unknown amount was on greenish blue vinyl. After demand increased, the band couldn't keep up with the screen printing and a picture sleeve version was pressed. Again, most of the records were on black vinyl, but an unknown amount were on green swirl vinyl.
