The popular St. John's rock trio Fur Packed Action have reunited after a seven year hiatus.

Fur Packed Action was an alternative rock and punk band from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The band's debut album, The Dull Thud of Fur, was released in 1998. The band consisted of Jody Richardson (vocals, guitar and keyboard), Geoff Younghusband (bass, vocals and guitar) and Barry Newhook (drums and vocals).

After a seven-year break Fur Packed Action will play a few sold-out shows in St. John's this weekend. After an absence of seven years St. John's rockers Fur Packed Action have returned to the stage. The trio hasn't played since a benefit show for a friend back in November 2011. The shows Friday and Saturday night at the Rock House are both sold out, something that came as a bit of relief to drummer Barry Newhook. The band also has some new merchandise for sale. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its 1998 release, The Dull Thud of Fur, the band is releasing a double vinyl album - which includes four songs that didn't appear on the CD. Only 200 copies of the double vinyl have been made and are expected to sell out quickly. Only 200 have been pressed and are expected to sell out over the weekend.

Hard to believe this album was released 20 years ago. Fuck I’m old. Thanks to the guys for printing a few copies. I wish I could’ve been there for one of the reunion shows. Not just for the tunes, but for the reunion of that scene. It was a pretty special time in St. John’s, full of creativity, and some really neat, talented people. Im privileged to have been there. Sounds way better on record.
