Eight Miles High/Makes No Sense at All. Advertisement. Hüsker Dü 11/27/1990. Eight Miles High/Makes No Sense at All combines two singles Hüsker Dü put out when they were at the height of their powers. Their fantastic rendition of "Eight Miles High" was backed with a live version of "Masochism World," and the marvelous "Makes No Sense at All" was backed by Sonny Curtis' "Love Is All Around," the theme from the Mary Tyler Moore show.

The discography of Hüsker Dü, an American punk rock band, consists of six studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, two extended plays, and ten singles. The band was formed by Bob Mould (guitar, vocals), Grant Hart (drums, vocals), and Greg Norton (bass guitar) in 1979. Their first album release was Land Speed Record, a live album released through New Alliance Records.

Single by Hüsker Dü. from the album Flip Your Wig. Released. Eight Miles High" (1984). Makes No Sense At All" (1985). Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely" (1986). Makes No Sense At All" is a song by Hüsker Dü from the album Flip Your Wig. The song was the only single from the album. Makes No Sense At All" was written by Bob Mould, who continues to perform it during his solo tours.

Hüsker Dü, Guns at My School (1982). Hüsker Dü had been around for about two years, and Land Speed Record was recorded in August of 1981 at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis. We'd just finished the first national tour we'd ever done, and this was a pretty amazing homecoming gig. The first set was completely crazy. Silver Age came together very quickly with a lot of love and energy. But it didn't stop me from being defiant in "Silver Age" or "Star Machine. Being grateful to make another record, but still being a smart-ass. And much like "Makes No Sense at All" or "Everything Falls Apart," when I'm singing, "It's the end of things, the end of everything," you can't beat that for darkness. But I can't make it much catchier than the way I sing it. It's the current epitome of the contrast I use in my work.

Simplified open chords, no capo. Was this info helpful? Yes. No. Difficulty: intermediate.

This was the first 7" I ever bought, it wasn't in '85 when it was released but it wasn't too far after that. I had no idea who Husker Du was, I just liked the cover because it reminded me of the cover of the Rolling Stone's album "Goat's Head Soup"... but anyway, I bought it and took it home and put it on my record player and was blown away. The tracks are so short and so powerful, "Makes No Sense At All" just had that great hook in the song and you couldn't resist it. This is what got me into this style of indie rock/punk and led me right into getting into old school emocore like Rites Of Spring and Fugazi and into punk music as well. This 7" has been everywhere with me, my copy is all tattered and torn but the record still plays perfectly for me! This track is from the Flip Your Wig album but if I had to recommend just one Husker Du album then it would be Zen Arcade... and it's just my opinion but it sounds alot better on vinyl than it did on the cd releases that came later.
