Joan Manuel Serrat es un cantautor, compositor, actor, poeta y músico nacido en Barcelona en el año 1943. Su obra siempre ha estado influenciada por grandes poetas, como Mario Benedetti, Miguel Hernández, Lorca, et. y por diversos géneros musicales como el folklore catalán, la copla, el tango, el bolero y el cancionero popular de Latino Ámerica. Mientras estudiaba la carrera, junto a tres amigos más formaron un grupo, cuya aventura musical no llegaría muy lejos.

In 1976, Joan Manuel Serrat was acclaimed for the first time in the United States, while performing in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. In January 1995, the Spanish government awarded him a medal for his contribution to Hispanic culture.
