The Cowsills is the eponymous debut album by American pop group and family, the Cowsills. The first single from the album was "The Rain, The Park & Other Things", which reaching No. 2 on the Billboard pop chart. Similar in style to pop groups The Mamas & the Papas, Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, The Monkees and other Bubblegum, AM Pop and sunshine pop-style pop music of the time, the Cowsills produced a family-friendly music produced by an actual family.

The Cowsills were a singing group from Newport, Rhode Island specializing in what would later be defined as bubblegum pop. The band was formed in the spring of 1965 by four brothers - Barry, Bill, Bob, and John Cowsill. After their initial success, the brothers were later joined by their siblings, Susan and Paul and their mother, Barbara.

Featuring "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things," this debut album by the Cowsills really isn't half-bad mainstream late-'60s pop, with a heavy Mamas & the Papas fixation. It's not nearly as good as the Mamas & the Papas, of course, and doesn't stand up to in-depth listening - nor are they saying anything quite as profoundly refreshing and personal as what the Mamas & the Papas conveyed on their best records.
