King Harvest was a 1970s French-American rock band that formed in Paris, known for their 1972 hit single, "Dancing in the Moonlight". Formed by a group of four American expatriates in Paris in 1970, King Harvest was best known for its one US hit single, "Dancing in the Moonlight", which was released in 1972.
There are two entries for King Harvest. 1. King Harvest is a 4 piece band that formed in 1969 and is most well known for the classic hit "Dancing in the Moonlight.
Jef from Passaic, NjThe King Harvest version is often wrongly primarily attributed to Van Morrison, Elvis Costello or "Kink Harris" due to incorrect labeling on various digital download services. Neither Morrison nor Costello has actually recorded a version of "Dancing in the Moonlight", and "Kink Harris" does not exist. Kevin from Reading, PaKing Harvest is the name of a song by the Band on their classic 1968 album. In fact, the song sounds like it could have been a Band song in that era, though it's got that commercial production touch that the Band just couldn't be bothered with. Sebastian from Providence, RiThis song was use for a Walmart ad.
A new King Harvest, which included the four original members, was formed in 1974 with LA drummer Richie Pidanik. With support from Beach Boys members Carl Wilson and Mike Love, they were signed to A&M Records and made another album, but, failing to achieve any hits, they subsequently broke up. Novak, Altbach, Tuleja, and Figueroa toured with the Beach Boys. Novak and Tuleja went on to play country western in Scandinavia and released the album King Harvest - The Prairie Dogs' Classic Country produced by George Doering. Their recording of "Looking For Love" from the album later appeared in the 2014 movie OK Buckeroos - The Life, Music and Good Times of Jerry Jeff Walker. King Harvest released their The Lost Tapes album in September 2007, and performed on TJ Lubinsky's My Music DVD entitled The 70s Experience Live produced for PBS.
My field My seeds I am the harvest As the gods all watch as we craw No matter what we will stand by our master Our cradles and our graves under stones Dug up by fathers resting beneath us. Rain is falling on the fields They grow on me Reach towards the sun One day you will joint he soil But first we grow. My field My seeds I am the harvest. As I lift this child from the ground No matter how long it takes, he's returning Our destiny is written in dirt Nurtured by mothers raised by the seasons
