Reuben David Egan (March 20, 1954 – March 18, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist based in Lafayette, Louisiana, who composed, recorded, and performed rock, Cajun-rock, soul, and blues.

Its style and content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that he was later known for, such as the folk rock influenced "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
