But once in a while, there's still one that hits it outta the park. When the subject is as great as SLOAN, it's a can't lose proposition. I've never heard the majority of the acts here (tho I'm a big fan of Fireking), but damned if I hear a duff track on this set.

Radio Daze: Pop Hits of the 80s is a series of compilation albums released by Rhino Records in 1995, each featuring 12 soft rock hit recordings from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Five albums in the series were released. Many of the tracks reached the top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart, with most making the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Singles chart.

There was power-pop, neo-psychedelia, acid-punk, art rock and lots and lots of keyboards. The college-radio boom of the ‘80s and indie rock of the 21st Century both owe a lot to the New Wave bands on this list. 47. Bow Wow Wow – I Want Candy (1982) Bow Wow Wow ’s cover of the Strangeloves’ I Want Candy still sounds fresh today, with its lively production, surf guitar and tribal drums. It was released as a single and ended up on this compilation along with older songs and a few new ones.
