So he whittled 13 hours of drumless, voiceless guitar atmospherics into the 50-minute Mood X. Since his early days in the Comsats, Fellows has repeatedly proved his worth as a dynamic, imaginative guitar mangler.

The album was reissued with additional tracks by Renascent in February 2007. This was the last album the Comsat Angels produced with their original line-up of band members. Around the time "My Minds Eye" was released, bass player Kevin Bacon left the band to devote more time to his career as a music producer. For some of the tracks, Bacon was not involved in the writing and only came in to record them  .
