By including three records plus additional Kiss merchandise, the Japanese-only import box set The Originals II followed the same format as 1976's 'The Originals. Featuring the band's 1976-77 studio output (Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over, and Love Gun), this box was released to coincide with Kiss' spring 1978 tour of Japan. Due to the fact that it includes a lyric sheet, a booklet, and four separate paper "masks" of each Kiss member, it has become one of Kiss' most sought-after items among fans/collectors.

Kiss is the debut studio album by American rock band Kiss, released on February 8, 1974. Much of the material on the album was written by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, as members of their pre-Kiss band Wicked Lester. Simmons estimated that the entire process of recording and mixing took three weeks, while co-producer Richie Wise has stated it took just 13 days.
