Do You Remember Rock 'N' Roll Radio? Written-By – Ramones. K-Tel was a record label that created various artist albums back in the 1970’s and 1980’s with current hit songs of the time. The albums were promoted on television They allowed you to get a variety of popular songs on one album. These albums had names like Disco Rocket, Gold Rush ‘79, Blast Off, Street Beat and many other cheesy names. These were the original artist however some songs were cut on their time from the original album track and even sometimes from the original single. The album name was Rock 80. I liked the bright rainbow colors on the cover. I didn’t know all the songs on the album but my sister convinced me I’d love it. Well being only around 9 years old I played it and the album began to grow on me.

K-tel recruited Australian Don Reedman (twin brother of Peter Reedman, who was already working in the Australian office) to set up the UK-based division of K-tel Records in the early 1970s. Ian Howard was the Managing Director of operations. Super Bad, Super Bad Is Back (both 1973), and Souled Out (1975), Soul and R&B hits of the day. Summer Cruisin' (1976) and Rock 'N' Roll Show (1977), mostly 1950s music. Goofy Greats (1975) and Looney Tunes (1976) compiled novelty songs from the 50s and 60s. Night Moves (1979), a 2-record disco dance tutorial with accompanying instruction book featuring Deney Terrio; includes one side of disco songs featured in the lessons.

Released back in August 2018, how this 12 track album has not caught the ear's of the mainstream radio station's is unbelievable!, as the guy's have filled a massive void that has been missing for an eternity from the post-punk scene.

And rock & roll as an American musical form is very much like a delta, collecting elements from jazz, blues, country, gospel, R&B, show tunes, and whatever else was floating around into a high-charged, rambunctious music that defined and drove pop culture across the backwaters of the 20th century and into the 21st. where rock & roll began isn't exactly answered here, this set makes for a fascinating tour through some wonderfully cool and classic stuff like Amos Milburn's rollicking "Chicken Shack Boogie," Tampa Red's desperately frantic "It's Tight Like That" (from 1927), and Les Paul and Mary Ford's timelessly amazing "How High the Moon," the first single in the.

Various 70's Artists). Although '70s Nostalgia has lately been wrung dry of its charm, there are several artifacts from the era that still wield a certain fascination. For any record collector rummaging through a cardboard box of albums at the thrift store, one such relic is the K-Tel Records LP. With its unholy union of hyperbolic album-cover art and AM radio pop hits, K-Tel was an icon of schlock for an entire generation growing up in the '70s and '80s.
