Live 86 – 89. IN CAHOOTS was formed by me in 1982 to play my compositions. Previous line-ups have included Richard Sinclair, Hugh Hopper & Steve Franklin. The band tour the UK & Europe regularly & have made several broadcasts for the BBC as well as Dutch & German radio. IN CAHOOTS is well represented on my debut album Cutting Both Ways released on Impetus in the UK and on Cuneiform in the USA & Canada. My latest album Split Second released by Reckless also finds the band playing on my compositions Truly Yours, And Thus Far & Your Root 2. Play.

1991: Live 86-89 (Mantra Records). 1993: Live In Japan (Crescent Discs). 1994: Recent Discoveries (Crescent Discs}. 1996: Parallel (Crescent Discs). Miller and Pyle had been playing together in In Cahoots, which had previously also included Hopper. In 1993, they released a live album that contains material from concerts in England, 1991 and France, 1992. Short Wave was short lived - all members were also busy in other projects and bands. The album was reissued on CD in 2005 on Voiceprint Records. When I Paint My Masterpiece. When I Paint My Masterpiece" is a 1971 song written by Bob Dylan. It was first released by The Band, who recorded the song for their album Cahoots. Dylan himself recorded the song in the March 1971 sessions.

Short Wave Live is the only album by Short Wave, a UK band related to the Canterbury Scene, consisting of Hugh Hopper (bass), Didier Malherbe (sax), Phil Miller (guitar) and Pip Pyle (drums). The band was formed in 1991. In 1993, they released a live album that contains material from concerts in England, 1991 and France, 1992

In Cahoots Live 86–89. Phil Miller & Fred Baker. In Cahoots Live in Japan. Les Jardins Du Casino.

In Cahoots is also the name of a Canterbury scene band led by guitarist Phil Miller, their main composer. The band was formed in November 1982 by Miller with Pip Pyle(†) (drums), Richard Sinclair (bass) and Elton Dean(†) (saxophone), as the Phil Miller Quartet. It was expanded to a quintet and given its definitive name when Peter Lemer (keyboards) joined in early 1983. This line-up appeared on Miller's solo album Split Seconds, while In Cahoots Live 86-89 was released in 1989 (released under the name Phil Miller/In Cahoots like all their albums). In 1990, Franklin left and the band was joined by Jim Dvorak on trumpet. Baker and Lemer appeared on Miller's Digging In (1991), which also had programmed drums by Pip Pyle. In 1991, Miller and Pyle were reunited with Hopper in Short Wave. In Cahoots continued with a Japanese tour, including Lemer, documented on Live in Japan (1993).
