Sound + Vision is David Bowie's box set compilation released on Rykodisc in 1989. By the end of the 1980s, the rights to Bowie's pre-1983 catalogue originally issued by (Phillips/Mercury Records and RCA Records) reverted to Bowie and his former management company MainMan. This version contains more tracks on each CD than the original release, and does not include the CD-Video/CD-ROM tracks from the original release. David Live, 1974; originally from Ziggy Stardust. David Live; originally from Aladdin Sane.
David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its style and content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that he was later known for, such as the folk rock influenced "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
David Bowie is the second studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released under that title by Philips in the UK, and as Man of Words/Man of Music by Mercury in the US, on 14 November 1969. It was reissued in 1972 by RCA Records as Space Oddity (the title of the opening track, which had reached No. 5 in the UK Singles Chart). Space Oddity was the name used for CD releases of the album in 1984, 1990 and 1999, but it reverted to the original, eponymous title for 2009 and 2015 reissues.
An artist whose career spanned over 50 years, even allowing for a decade off, Bowie produced so much material. I am by no means an expert so if you disagree with any of the following info just leave a blab below. Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud. B-side to ‘Space Oddity’ that was re-recorded for the album.
Bowie debuted Ziggy Stardust and his Spiders from Mars in 1971. On concept album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Bowie's Stardust is sent to warn humans that there are only five years left on earth. He becomes a rock icon who is destroyed by his own vices and fans. In 1997, Bowie celebrated his 50th birthday extravagantly by hosting a concert at Madison Square Garden. He was joined on-stage by Lou Reed for performances of "Queen Bitch," "Dirty Blvd," "White Light/White Heat," and "I'm Waiting for the Ma. The Cure's Robert Smith, Foo Fighters, Trent Reznor and Sonic Youth were among the other artists to join Bowie in ringing in his 50th year.

Photograph: Stefan Wermuth/Reuters. 12 The androgynous Bowie of legend came to the fore in 1970 when he wore a flowing dress on the cover of his third album, The Man Who Sold the World, and to attendant interviews. 13 His bisexuality – both real and knowingly created through his personae – became central to his appeal to new generations of outsiders. Bowie planned the notorious Melody Maker interview of January 1972, in which he told Michael Watts I’m gay and always have been, as a statement of intent and a land grab for new territory of the mind.
