This album is probably one of the most demanding, complex and exquisite that I know of. It encapsulates many things in on. .extreme modernized bebop extension, crazy and incredibly brilliant solos and very tight team play. Its like they are slightly mad whilst playing. It takes quite a while before you can penetrate this album. But once you get into it it is more interesting and emotionally satisfying then anything I have ever listened to within Jazz. But lets be clear; this is not an album for the faint harted or the person who is new to Jazz. Herbie Hancock on Piano takes no prisoner Miles Davis plays as if he is part of another world Tony Williams ties the band together and pushes the band forward through his refreshing drum play Wayne Shorter is great.

The packaging is a bit confusing because Davis' group actually performed seven full sets but, since the second set on December 22nd ran over, it has been issued on two CDs but placed inside the same package.
