Lead Me On is the seventh studio album, and eleventh overall album by Christian music singer-songwriter Amy Grant, released in 1988 through A&M Recordings. Lead Me On was a departure from its predecessor, the high-energy pop album Unguarded. Unlike Unguarded or 1991's Heart in Motion, Lead Me On was not mainstream compatible.

It's not unusual to come away from an Amy Grant album with a feeling of hope and steadfastness in the world around, but, with this release, truly one of her best, Grant makes an unexpected departure. From the first notes of the album's opener, "1974," a song about her discovery of faith, one feels as though Grant has left behind the pop sounds of this album's predecessor, Unguarded, and entered territory more familiar to her Nashville roots

Amy Grant is the eponymous debut studio album by then-teenage Christian singer Amy Grant, released in 1977 on Myrrh Records. Three songs from the album made Top Ten Christian radio airplay: "Old Man's Rubble," "Beautiful Music," and "What a Difference You've Made. The latter track was made more famous by country singer Ronnie Milsap, as "What a Difference You've Made in My Life. ) Contemporary Christian music was coming out of its infancy, but at first, albums made by early Contemporary Christian music artists did not have enough copies. Lead Me On is the debut album of American blues singer and guitarist Kelly Joe Phelps. It is his first release on the Burnside label before moving to Rykodisc Records.

Amy Grant explained to Billboard magazine what was going on in her life which reflected the more serious, hard-hitting material on the Lead Me On album. Said Amy: "I was pregnant with Matt and my grandmother had just died. I was wrestling with facing some more adult issues. Gary and I had been married five years, which is long enough to have gone through some rough patches. I had just realized that life can't be tied up in a neat bow and I wanted to reflect on that
