Trench is the fifth studio album by American duo Twenty One Pilots. It is the band's third studio album released through Fueled by Ramen. It was released on October 5, 2018. All songs written by Tyler Joseph. Twenty One Pilots released their fourth studio album, Blurryface, on May 17, 2015.

10/5/2018 by Chris Payne. Arguably 2018’s most widely anticipated rock album, Trench revels in the confounding genre-blurring and cavernous conceptualism that has defined Twenty One Pilots over their nearly decade-long existence. If anything, it’s weirder than its predecessor, and even more self-assured in its pursuit of a cohesive concept, which again centers on Joseph’s inner-turmoil

The album’s title is TRENCH and its cover features a picture of a vulture combined with black and yellow tones. It’s worth also mentioning that the same black-and-yellow style was used to design the rest of the pieces of visual art for Pilots, especially it’s clearly seen in the music videos, where we’ve seen these colors in various decorations, costumes or symbols. Having dug deeper into the lyrical content of the album, we can clearly see that within 14 music tracks lasting for almost an hour, we can hear a story of album’s main hero living in imaginary city Dema.

On their 2015 breakthrough, Blurryface, Twenty One Pilots were the ultimate post-this site rock band, flickering wildly through ideas and genre: Tyler Joseph’s vein-spilling emo rap, Josh Dun’s funky-hard Travis Barker drums, tweaks of electronic music and reggae, twee ukulele indie, the grandeur of a Broadway musical and existential lyrics with a metatextual flair. Think a modern Sublime doing Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life. Most of those elements are still here on fifth album Trench, but they’ve coalesced into a smarter, more mature whole

Twenty One Pilots' Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun speak with Music Feeds contributor Sarah Bellamy ahead of their upcoming Australian tour. Ohio duo Twenty One Pilots (Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun) have just released their hotly anticipated album Trench. Out today, the record is the first full-length effort from the pair since 2015’s wildly successful Blurryface, which was the first album in history to receive Gold certification or above for every. Blurryface itself is three times multi-Platinum, and contains singles such as ‘Ride’ and ‘Stressed Out’ (the latter of which won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2017, and has amassed almost 100 million this site streams)
