Under the Jaguar Sun, is, however, a record that sums up Nadja’s identity perfectly. While both of these discs were recorded with the idea of being played at the same time, they can be enjoyed individually to great success. Disc one, Tezcatlipoca (Darkness), is comprised of five tracks totaling just under an hour. The music is the heavy, sludgy, doom-laden shoegaze that is their trademark, with enough tension and menace to fill a gladiator’s arena.

Originally Under the Jaguar Sun was released as a 2XCD. If you listen to the CDs separately they're both very boring, and I imagine trying to play them together would be a pain (other bands have done this before and pulled it off well, such as Neurosis, but Nadja fails on this one). The production for both of those albums is perfect for Nadja and hopefully they will re-record this album like what they did for Touched and Skin Turns to Glass.
