Uchihashi Kazuhisa (内橋和久, Kazuhisa Uchihashi) was born in Osaka in 1959. He started playing guitar at the age of 12, and played in folk and rock bands in junior high and high school. Since about 1983 he has actively developed music centered on free improvisation, and expanded the possibilities of the electric guitar by innovating various sound effects.

Kazuhisa Uchihashi (内橋和久, Uchihashi Kazuhisa) is a Japanese guitarist involved in free improvisation music. Born in 1959 in Osaka, Uchihashi began to play the guitar at age 12, playing in various rock bands, though he later studied jazz music.

Armed with his guitar, an Electro-Harmonics 16-second delay, a Digitech Whammy Pedal and a Boss Loop Station, Uchihashi Kazuhisa has turned in a series of solo guitar pieces that often sound more like music created on a laptop computer. Having started playing rock and folk-rock years ago, Kazuhisa can play "conventional" guitar, but having been active in the free improv/noise scene for some time now, his range of extended techniques is impressive.
