Platinum Blonde is a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto in 1980. At the beginning of its most commercially successful period in the mid-to late 1980s, the band consisted of Mark Holmes (Mansfield, England) on vocals and bass, Sergio Galli on guitar and Chris Steffler on drums. Scottish musician Kenny MacLean joined the group as bassist in 1985, freeing Holmes from bass duties.

Platinum Blonde is a New Wave group that was first active from the mid 1980s to the early 1990s. The band originally consisted of Mark Holmes from Mansfield, England on vocals and bass, Sergio Galli on guitar and Chris Steffler on drums. Scottish musician Kenny MacLean later joined the group as the bassist. The name of the band was inspired by the 1931 Jean Harlow movie Platinum Blonde. They were known also for their stylish glam rock-like appearance. The band re-united in 2010 and will be releasing a new album in 2012.

Platinum Blonde is the self-titled debut EP by Platinum Blonde released in 1983. The EP was only released on vinyl and cassette and is also known as Six Track Attack. It reached a high of on the Canadian charts in early 1984, before being subsequently re-released with four additional tracks as the full-length Standing in the Dark album in 1984.
