This is Alvin Crow’s second tribute CD honoring his friend, Doug Sahm. Alvin first met Doug in Austin, Texas during the mid-1970s. They remained close friends and performed together frequently until Doug’s untimely passing in 1999. Doug Sahm attained fame as the founder and lead singer of The Sir Douglas Quintet, a rock band that produced hits such as She’s About A Mover and Mendocino. He was also the driving force that led to the creation of the Texas Tornados and its influential Tejano/Tex-Mex sound. Alvin Crow has been a mainstay in the Austin music scene for over forty years.
