Texas in July was an American metalcore band from Ephrata, Pennsylvania, formed in 2007. They released an EP, Salt of the Earth, and their debut full-length album, I Am, through CI Records. After signing with Equal Vision Records, they released three more studio albums: One Reality on April 26, 2011; a self-titled album on October 9, 2012; and finally Bloodwork on September 16, 2014. The band broke up at the end of 2015

Texas in July is the third studio album from Texas in July. The album was produced by Will Putney, recorded at Machine Shop Studios in Belleville, New Jersey, and released on October 9, 2012, with "Bed of Nails", the first single from the album, released on September 11, 2012. The entire album was streamed online one week prior to its release. The album features percussion from Matt Greiner of August Burns Red, vocals from David Stephens of We Came as Romans and Chadwick Johnson of Hundredth.

Texas in July has officially shown itself with this effort. It is likely the best record that this quintet ever has had to offer to its audience. The musicianship is a forced to be reckoned with, and the sound production pushes the music even higher up the scale. The band has proven that after garnering three stellar albums under their belt, they have mastered the melodic and brutal realms of metalcore. The only thing that this album fails to do is really shatter any metalcore molds; in other words, while this is a very nicely done record that surely will draw in newcomers to the genre, there’s nothing completely new that it has to offer. Nonetheless, fans of melodic, ferocious, and potent metalcore and hardcore will want to get their hands on this album. As stated earlier, this record also serves as a great introduction of the metalcore genre to new listeners as well. Texas in July has defined what defining a band’s self truly is.

From the start of the album, I would have to compare the quality of the sound to that of their last album, " One Reality " - the guitars and drums are well mixed, and typical of metal albums these days, the bass is mostly mixed out, which is a shame, considering Ben Witkowski writes almost all of their songs. In any case, the sound is tight, and well produced. For the actual songs, a few stand out in my mind.
