Black Sabbath are the forefathers of heavy metal, says Rick Rubin, the producer of the band’s most recent album 13. They may well be the heaviest band of all time. And I don’t know of a more influential band other than The Beatles. And every Sabbath album, from 1970 to 2013, has been shaped by Tony Iommi – the band’s sole ever-present, and the undisputed master of the heavy metal riff. What resulted was a polished hard rock album that sounded nothing like Black Sabbath, and a tour on which Hughes was deemed a liability, and was duly sacked. 19. The Eternal Idol (1987).

Label: Rhino/Warner Bros. With 1978's Never Say Die! the original Black Sabbath sputtered to an end (before their 1997 reunion, that is). Considered the classic line-up's worst outing (certainly inferior to the reconstituted outfit's first two LPs featuring Ronnie James Dio on vocals), it's a schizoid menagerie of frosted metal and synth-laced experimentation.

Hard Road is a music singles/eps/fan club/promo recording by BLACK SABBATH (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1978 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. No release results - showing artist results instead. Paranoid Rhino/Warner Bros.

Best Black Sabbath album to have ever been recorded! Best lineup of Black Sabbath, by far: Ozzy Osbourne - vocals Tony Iommi - guitar Geezer Butler - bass Bill Ward - drums. 5 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. This album was the first Sabbath album I played from start to finish for a couple of months. I was officially a Sabbath fan. This is their best album by far. Epic, Brilliant, Masterpiece, Magnum Opus. Song for song, this is Heavy Metal at its best and definitely, the best Black Sabbath album. Tony Martin is a great singer. Get guitar riffs on that album.
