I think Never Say Die is Black Sabbath’s best album from the Ozzy era and might have even been better if they had completed it with Ozzy. Though Black Sabbath's "Never Say Die!" wasn't a breakup album in the strictest sense, it did signal the end of their partnership with frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who would soon be booted out for being too messed up on drugs, by a band messed up on drugs. The unsteady state of the entire band, however, makes "Never Say Die!" a textbook definition of what an album should sound like when it signals the end of an era.
