Pulp - It album flac

My version of this pressing has a grinding noise throughout in the background, which spurred me to replace my stylus as it was getting to be about time anyway. But on changing it out, the background noise remains. It is especially pronounced on the alternate version of Blue Girls on the B side. Dunno whether this is a problem with the pressing in general or ours in particular, but it's a bit annoying.

They should put all the bonus tracks in the B side (from "Looking For Life") and keep the original tracklist on the A side.They made a mess. Poor reissue.

Don't know how I'd feel about 'It' at the time of its original release but respectfully, the album shows the group's talents (or Cocker's in particular) weren't only of 1994-95 onwards breakthrough - I immediately fell in love with Pulp discovering 'Different class' and further fascination only followed, as I started buying retrospectively, most of what was available during their mid-90s; most notably 'His 'N' Hers' and 'Intro' compilation. There was also a book to encompass the 'Different Class' hysteria - a biography done by Martin Aston. Unlike many instant biographies of the time, Pulp's was clocked perfectly and amazingly in-depth, covering their humble beginnings through to deserved commercial successes - still makes it an interesting read.However, even for Aston who wrote in sympathetic tone all the way, 'It' was rather overlooked and somewhat mocked, early experiment in pop music. 'Love Love' in particular was ultimately dismissed as a mistake. Well, it's not that kind of mistake - for a debut album and equally so, as a vision, 'It' is truly fine-balanced, with only remark it is somewhat a standard debut album on the verge of what was going on around the then-new group, hungry for some attention.Maybe a moment or two seem forced, however, in total, 'It' is a very typical (read: truly good) Pulp album - despite the fact, apart from Jarvis Cocker (and original (former) member Wayne Furniss), the line-up was entirely different from the later institution; musically, it is more obvious from the point of Artery - one of Sheffield's most-beloved art-rock groups that actually influenced Pulp (whose Simon Hinkler largely participated in helping then-very young Cocker).For a kid only to find out how cruel the road to stardom is, Cocker sounds confident and mature enough - by the sound of his voice you couldn't really tell his age. 'Looking For Life', beautifully lazy 'Blue Girls', 'My Lighthouse', 'Wishful Thinking' (notable for flirting with The Smiths and pre-dating The Housemartins) and 'Joking Aside' offer a fine introduction, nevermind the fact these were never destined to be hits in themselves; the greatest thing about 'It' is, the album ages very decently - maybe at the time it was neither loved nor hated, mostly ignored for its desperate appeal but it proves the fact Pulp was building slowly but carefully and while they learned from their eventual "mistakes", this debut now stands as proud part to their constantly excellent discography. And I don't remember any of their albums ever failed me. Including this one. Grab 'It' - it's a truly recommended listen; especially if you manage to find the one with their lost, interim single 'Everybody's Problem' (yes, it reminds of 'Wham' - which explains where the latter got inspiration for 'Wake Me Up Before You Go').
