Though it's only 21 minutes of music, "Polish Jazz Records" is a fabulous debut ep of duo Skalpel (from Wroclaw, Poland). As the title says, it's a sample-based journey in the spirit of Ninja Tune. Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudlo show great skills in creating fantastic atmosphere with perfectly cut and paste fragments of some wonderful and legendary polish jazz music. No wonder that Ninja Tune signed a contract with Skalpel after hearing this. If you're fond of, say, Cinematic Orchestra, you will be delighted. Check out other Skalpel's albums. Each one of them has some unforgettable tunes, too.
