The Middle of Nowhere is the fifth album released by Orbital. It was released in 1999, where it peaked at and spent 7 weeks in the UK albums chart. The track "Know Where to Run" was featured in the PlayStation game Wipeout 3. While released on 5 April 1999, it was finished much earlier, and unspecified problems led to the record label delaying its release for nearly 6 months.

None of the remixes match the original in terms of quality; though some come a little close.

As a dj and a very picky listener of music, i felt i had to leave a review of the breeder remix of this track. its one of the only tracks that i cannot flaw in any way, from is subtle intro that is perfect for mixing, this track gradually builds to a tension building stormer, leading to a nice humming female vocal, cuts half way to a growling base line, then kicks off into them beautiful synths again... Nothing short of perfection from breeder. Check it on youtube for a preview of this dance flore monster.
