His other appearances at the Proms include Constant Lambert's Piano Concerto and Richard Addinsell's Warsaw Concerto. In 1979 also, he performed two-piano works with Eileen Joyce. He played Sir Arthur Bliss's Piano Concerto at his United States debut in San Diego in 1982. It was slated for release on the album that became Warsaw, which was originally scrapped by the band and not released until 1994.
Warsaw Concerto and other Piano Concertos from the Movies.
Solo: Philip Fowke piano. Orchestra: RTE Concert Orchestra. Conductor: Proinnsias O Duinn. Not only did it include the Warsaw Concerto but also other 'Piano Concertos' from the movies. Some were familiar to me (like Spellbound) and others not. But they were all performed beautifully by Philip Fowke at the piano and the RTE Concert Orchestra excellently conducted by Proinnsias O'Duinn. I would highly recommend this disc. Whenever possible we provide a high resolution CD cover image and a PDF version of the CD booklet for you to download and.
