Released in 2003, this four-disc box set presents many of the finest recordings by the Belgian-born performer Django Reinhardt, considered by many to be the greatest jazz guitarist of all time. Drawing from sessions cut between 1934 and '52, the compilation features Reinhardt playing with his lauded pre-WWII ensemble, the Quintette du Hot Club de France, which included his brother, Joseph, and, most notably, violin virtuoso Stephane Grappelli.

Jean Reinhardt (23 January 1910 – 16 May 1953) stage name Django Reinhardt (French: or ), was a Belgian-born Romani-French jazz guitarist and composer, regarded as one of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century. He was the first jazz talent to emerge from Europe and remains the most significant. With violinist Stéphane Grappelli, Reinhardt formed the Paris-based Quintette du Hot Club de France in 1934.
