Tightrope is the 1977 debut solo album of jazz guitarist Steve Khan. Bob James who just got him signed to Columbia Records produced the album for his own Tappan Zee label, a sub-division of Columbia.
Steve Khan (born April 28, 1947) is an American jazz guitarist born in Los Angeles, California. The son of lyricist Sammy Cahn, Steve Khan is best-known for his fusion records, he originally played piano and drums. In 1969, Khan moved to New York and worked steadily on jazz, pop, and R&B recordings.

Evidence, on the other hand, was a true solo album, where Khan layered guitar upon guitar (upon guitar) in a setlist consisting completely of other peoples' writing. The first side of the original vinyl release collected compositions-some well-known, others more obscure-by jazz luminaries including Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, Lee Morgan, Horace Silver and his previous employer, Randy Brecker. The group's first album, Eyewitness (Antilles, 1981), was the subject of an extensive Rediscovery column at All About Jazz in early 2015, and it's flattering to learn that the column was one of a number of factors that led Khan to approach BGO Records with the idea of doing the same thing they'd done with his three Columbia recordings the.
Steve Khan is an American jazz guitarist. Born in Los Angeles, California, Khan is known for his work with artists such as Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Michael Franks, Hubert Laws, Billy Cobham, Jack DeJohnette, James Brown, Maynard Ferguson, and Weather Report. Khan is the author of five books on jazz music: Pentatonic Khancepts, Contemporary Chord Khancepts, The Wes Montgomery Guitar Folio, Pat Martino - The Early Years, and Guitar Workshop Series
