Continuous Play - Full Album - This is the first live album by the group. It was recorded in September of 1981 at a free benefit concert in Central Park, New York City, where the pair performed in front of more than 500,000 people. 6 months ago. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, in harmony, together, in my opinion, the best two part harmony to ever come from the North American continent. Absolutely the Greatest.

Simon and Garfunkel‘s 1981 Concert in Central Park is being released on double 180g vinyl and as a CD+DVD combo pack next month. The concert drew more than half a million fans to New York’s Central Park and was originally released as a double album for Warner Bros. The recording has been remastered from the original analogue tapes for these new releases. In fact unlike the vinyl record, the CD+DVD isn’t getting an official release outside the US (perhaps in part because the DVD was included in 2007’s good value The Collection box set)

The Central Park Concert took place in 1981 when they were both almost 40 years old. They look so beautiful here, and they were possibly at the peak of their vocal abilities. Some have said that they can see friction and even hatred between the two of them during this concert, but I have watched it many times and haven't noticed anything like that. They are very cordial with each other, and even seem to be sharing private jokes at times. They smile and laugh in places. Simon even cracks up a bit when he and Garfunkel look at each other while performing "Feelin' Groovy

The duo have reunited several times, most famously in 1981 for "The Concert in Central Park", which attracted more than 500,000 people, one of the largest concert attendances in history. Simon & Garfunkel's debut studio album, Wednesday Morning, 3 . was recorded over three sessions in March 1964 and released in October. It contains four compositions by Simon, three traditional folk songs, and five folk-influenced singer-songwriter songs. Simon was adamant that they would no longer use stage names. Columbia set up a promotional. showcase at Folk City on March 31, 1964, the duo's first public concert as Simon & Garfunkel. The showcase, as well as other scheduled performances, did not go well

Simon & Garfunkel reunited on September 19, 1981, to perform a free concert in Central Park, New York City. This two-record set presents some of the duo's biggest hits in a live context, and also allows listeners a chance to hear what many Simon solo numbers could sound like in S&G mode. Track Listing - Disc 1. Title/Composer.

The charity concert for the renovation of Central Park is listed in the history books as one of the best live performances of the two musicians. In February 1982 the first live album of the folk duo Simon and Garfunkel was released: The Concert in Central Park. With classics such as Mrs. Robinson, The Boxer and The Sound of Silence you can’t erase this folk duo from the history of popular music. The record is also a vain attempt to bring the two musicians together, who haven’t played together for years due to quarrels. The Concert in Central Park. The occasion for the concert is Central Park. The park has fallen into decline as a result of many budget cuts in the 1960s and 1970s. The green heart of New York – meant to offer the inhabitants a place where they can come to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in ‘the city that never sleeps’ – is in need of renovation.
