That’s what Olafur and Nils made this time. All wrapped up in a nice Analog quilt. The Production is Majestically good. You can hear the almost crystalline perfectness of the sound through the speakers and that adds to the overall feel of the EP. It has been a while since a record literally put me at ease! Loon did it. Reply Notify me 1 Helpful. Report it is mainly dub and electronic influenced with elements of classical, but this album fits far better into the electronic genre than clas.

Erased Tapes labelmates Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds have recorded and mixed their first collaborative record, Stare, which will receive a strictly limited release on Record Store Day, 21 April. The three-track EP also features past Frahm collaborator Anne Müller on cello, and graphics by designer Torsten Posselt.

lafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm announce Double-CD release ‘Collaborative Works’ – comprising all three vinyl EPs ‘Loon’, ‘Stare’ and ‘Life Story Love And Glory’ as well as 7 new songs from their ‘Trance Frendz’ studio film. The music on this CD is a collection of our studio collaborations from recent years. That is great for a couple days, but after a while we would always end up back in the studio, fiddling with synths or pianos  . In 2014 Ólafur announced his electronic debut album under the Kiasmos project with Bloodgroup front man Janus Rasmussen to much acclaim. About nils frahm: Nils Frahm works as an accomplished composer and producer from his Berlin-based Durton Studio.

Music speaks for itself...and the pressing is phenomenal. Side A played at 33 is a slow treat.

This is a bit of a departure for the pair of them, no swelling strings, no painstaking piano melodies. It's a bit motorik, a bit ambientish, a bit minimal experimental, soundscapes 'draped over your speakers whilst drying'. The last track reminds me very much of Cluster in their late '70s pomp. Obviously not many took a great deal of notice (of Cluster) then, nor will this set the world alight now, but I'm grateful this collection exists, it might even spur them on to something more substantial in this vein. They certainly have the talent.

Once in a while a gem of pure minimal beauty comes meandering by and that’s the time to sit back, take a glass of very enjoyable drinks, maybe some cheese, a good book and off you go! That’s ambient in it’s purest form. That’s what Olafur and Nils made this time. All wrapped up in a nice Analog quilt. The Production is Majestically good. Amazing album but classical genre is rather a stretch i think on this EP...it is mainly dub and electronic influenced with elements of classical, but this album fits far better into the electronic genre than classical.
