Super Trouper" is a single by Swedish pop group ABBA, and the title track from their 1980 studio album of the same name, written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.
Commercially, Super Trouper, ABBA's seventh album, was another worldwide blockbuster. The Winner Takes It All," its lead-off single, released several months in advance of the album in most territories, was a smash; for example, it was the group's 14th consecutive Top Five hit in the . and their eighth number one there. The title track was also a British chart-topper (their last), as was the album, their sixth. Lay All Your Love on Me" made the .
Probably due to the disco backlash of the time, the album saw ABBA returning to a more straightforward pop sound, as opposed to the preceding (and noticeably more dance-oriented) Voulez-Vous album. The album closed with The Way Old Friends Do, which was recorded live a year earlier during their 1979 concert tour.

This song was the last to be written for the Super Trouper album. In fact, the name "Super Trouper" had already been chosen as an album title, named after the stage lights of the same name. It was a lucky coincidence that the song Benny and Bjorn were writing to be an up tempo single ended up fitting with the title.
