Emmylou Harris’s love of Gibson Jumbo acoustics is well documented. From her duets with country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons and his 1960s J-200-which she still owns-to her custom-painted pink J-200 which she used exclusively on her 1985 album The Ballad Of Sally Rose, Harris’ career has been distinguished by her close association with Gibson. That friendship endures today with the L-200 Emmylou Harris acoustic guitar, a model that captures the big sound and classy look of Gibson’s SJ-20. hris Harvey. Emmylou harris(the silver fox).
Feeling Single Seeing Double (Live). Emmylou had formed The Hot Band at the behest of her label, Warner Brothers, in early 1975. Their live debut was a short 3-night residency at San Francisco s Boarding House, beginning 3rd April 1975. Guitarist James Burton and pianist Glen D. Hardin had both worked with Gram Parsons - as had bassist Emory Gordy - but were best known as members of Elvis Presley s band. On drums was John Ware, and Rodney Crowell performed something of a Parsons role by being Emmylou s onstage vocal partner, as well as playing guitar. Emmylou hands over the microphone to The Hot Band for Country Boy which was written by Guitarist Albert Lee and allows them to let rip with some great picking. The concert ends with a rousing rendition of Hank Williams Jambalaya.
