He spent most of his life in Austin, Texas where he lived until he left for studies at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 1998. Inspired by the sounds of Metallica and Black Sabbath, he picked up the electric bass at the age of 13, eventually getting a double-bass a few years later.
