The Bevis Frond New Album ‘We’re Your Friends, Man’ Out 7th December on Fire Records. Docking alongside the Mothership Frond, with its insignia emblazoned with the legend ‘We’re Your Friends, Man’, you can hear a smattering of Hendrixonian guitar wafting through the cavernous recess of this vessel. This is The Bevis Frond’s umpteenth mission, like Dark Star troopers they know the drill and in epic soundtrack proportions they clock in with just under 90 minutes of grown up angst, a l romp from the director who has an eye for this; nothing short of a genius auteur. To the point, on the money; it’s dramatic, plucking at the heart strings, spilling one liners, milking the past and crafting something completely new.

In 1987, Nick Saloman released his first homemade recordings as the Bevis Frond, Inner Marshland and Miasma, a pair of albums that made him sound like the most exciting new British artist of 1968. Time moves inexorably onward for the rest of us, but Saloman is still deep in the throes of vintage psychedelia, and 2018's We're Your Friends, Man makes it clear he has no intention of being dragged into the 21st century any time soon. If you've been following the Bevis Frond over the past three decades, We're Your Friends, Man will hold few surprises for you.

New album 'We're Your Friends, Man' arrives on December 7th through Fire Recordings, and it's billed as a stellar return from a true iconoclast. A real ear-worm, the subtlety of the songwriting is matched to a hushed, half-spoken vocal and some intricate, intelligent guitar playing. Somewhere between Crazy Horse, Dinosaur Jr. and Guided By Voices, it's an astute, warm return. Tune in now. Catch The Bevis Frond at the following shows: October 26 Somerville, MA The Rockwell

We're Your Friends, Man proves that they (he?) haven't lost a bit of their vision and skill, and while it's hard to say where one should start investigating the Bevis Frond's massive body of work, this will give you the lay of the land just as well as most of their albums. On somewhere around the 23rd album, English icon Nick Saloman and friends deliver another under-the-radar piece of epic brilliance. Saloman isOn somewhere around the 23rd album, English icon Nick Saloman and friends deliver another under-the-radar piece of epic brilliance. Saloman is a master songwriter, penning melodies that mix classic British rock with elements of pop and bits of Celtic folk music-then revving it all up with his spectacular guitar riffs. His voice has aged well, becoming stronger and more emotionally expressive over the years.

For over 30 years, Nick Saloman's the Bevis Frond have been cranking out crunchy, electric guitar-based, alternative-style rock. Times and styles may have changed, but the new album We're Your Friends, Man harkens back to the time when a heart-pounding lick and a line could create euphoria-or at least an approximation of Nirvana. There are echoes and homages (both instrumental and lyrical) to . Neil Young, and others from the original alt-rock era to show the Bevis Frond changed by never changing.
