Long Walk Home: Music from the Rabbit-Proof Fence, released in June 2002, is the fourth soundtrack album and twelfth album overall by the English rock musician Peter Gabriel. Devised as the soundtrack to the Australian film Rabbit-Proof Fence, it was the first release of new music by Peter Gabriel since OVO, also a soundtrack.

Ambient is PETER GABRIEL's instrumental soundtrack album Long Walk Home summed up in a word. It may be that this has to do with the musical stylings of the Aboriginal peoples that GABRIEL is working with here, but I don't know enough about the music of that part of the world to be sure. The Long Walk Home" was another album I got during the PG revival in 2003, the year that the great "Growing Up Live" DVD was released. The Long Walk Home" is actually music written for the movie "The Rabbit Proof Fence". As a soundtrack I guess it does what it is supposed to do: support the movie. As an album all by itself it was another small disappointment for me, just like "OVO".
Long Walk Home is the music, composed by Peter, for the Phillip Noyce film Rabbit Proof Fence. This 2LP release is Half-Speed Remastered and cut to lacquers at 45rpm. The vinyl was cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering, mastered by Tony Cousins at Metropolis and overseen by Peter’s main sound engineer Richard Chappell. All images are newly re-scanned. The vinyl LP album also contains a download card with a choice of digital download (Hi-Res 24bit/44. It has been heart warming to see the return of vinyl. Even though I loved being free of its limitations in the digital world, there is still a warmth and presence to vinyl that somehow makes it a more natural human companion. It is great to see a new generation learning the secrets of the grooves – Peter Gabriel.
Nearly a full decade after the release of Us, Peter Gabriel finally returned with new music in the summer of 2002 - but it wasn't a new studio album, it was the soundtrack to Phillip Noyce's return to independent Australian cinema, Rabbit-Proof Fence.
Up (2002) is the seventh studio and 13th album overall released by the English rock musician Peter Gabriel. It is his last full-length studio album of new original material to date, as the subsequent albums Scratch My Back and New Blood feature covers of other artists' songs and orchestral renderings of Gabriel's older material, respectively. Gabriel began work on the album in the spring of 1995. Its name was Up from the start, though at one point the name I/O was considered
