Lanquidity is a studio album by American jazz musician Sun Ra originally released in 1978 by Philly Jazz (with a shiny silver cover) and reissued on HDCD by Evidence Records in 2000 (with a light grey cover). It is quite different from his earlier recordings, drawing heavily on funk, R&B and jazz fusion. Lanquidity is also unusual in featuring two guitarists, which were seldom used in the Arkestra.
Sun Ra Lanquidity is one of Sun Ra's most popular albums-because it's something of a "pop" effort.

Lanquidity isn't a representative Sun Ra record, but maybe there's no such thing. Lanquidity is a beautiful album. It would not be out of place in a record collection that included Miles Davis' In a Silent Way or Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, but it's weirder and dreamier than either of those justly celebrated releases. Where Pathways Meet" is a blistering funk work-out that features a dynamite horn section.
Sun Ra is one seriously blazed up dude.
