Mozaik performing at 'The Galeri' in Caernarfon (Wales, UK), on Wednesday 26 September 2007. This live version of 'Reuben's Train' is quite different from the studio recording released on Mozaik's second album, 'Changing Trains', where it was wittily renamed 'Reuben's Transatlantic Express'.

Changing Trains is the first studio album recorded by Mozaik in Budapest during November 2005, and for which they had rehearsed new material a few months earlier, in January and April. The album was initially released by the band in Australia in 2006 and, after additional re-mixing by Dónal Lunny at Longbeard Studios in Dublin, was re-released in the autumn of 2007 under license to Compass Records.

They've just released their new studio album, Changing Trains, and now trad and folk veterans Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny's band Mozaik have announced a gig in Dublin's Vicar Street, on October 5. Mozaik features a very cosmopolitan line-up with members including Nikola Parov (Hungary), Bruce Molsky (USA), and Rens van der Zalm (Holland and Australia). Tickets priced €3. 0 (including booking fee) go on sale on Friday March 21 from ww. icketmaster. ie and outlets nationwide. Changing Trains was recorded in four different countries.

Andy Irvine & Dónal Lunny's Mozaik is a multicultural folk band consisting of Irish musicians Andy Irvine (founding member of the bands Sweeney's Men, Planxty and Patrick Street) and Dónal Lunny (founding member of the bands Planxty, Bothy Band and Moving Hearts), augmented by American fiddler Bruce Molsky, Hungarian t Nikola Parov (Zsaratnok, the Riverdance band) and Dutch t Rens van der Zalm (Fungus, Wolverei).

This thoroughly charming album is something of a supergroup project including Irish musicians Dónal Lunny and Andy Irvine, American t Bruce Molsky, Dutch guitarist Rens van der Zalm, and Hungarian t Nikola Parov. Each brings songs and styles from his own tradition, resulting in a nice assortment of tunes. The program opens with "O'Donoghue's," which is something of an overlong and overly specific celebration of the denizens of an institution with which few listeners will be familiar, and a song that therefore gets a bit tiresome long.
