Duval returns to a largely supportive role on Omens, co-led by one of the most underrated tenor saxophonists in the business, Bob Magnuson. Joined on the frontline by alto saxophonist Jameel Moondoc, the reedmen wrap their voices around one another, with the results often rising to the level of exquisite artistry. The overall sound manages to project an Ornette-like presence. Duval holds down the ship, subordinating ego for the group sound, to again further the success of another sparkling creative venture.

However he considers the ensemble featured on Quartet to be his first regular band. It’s not just a few guys playing a gig or an all-star group. fataldiz Amazing quartet! Bob continues to compose beautiful tunes !! Rob O.
