Pete Townshend - Another Scoop album flac

Another Scoop is a compilation album by Pete Townshend, and essentially a sequel to Scoop. Like Scoop released in 1983, Another Scoop features a multitude of demos, outtakes and unreleased material, many of which are songs by The Who. It was followed by Scoop 3 in 2001, the third and last Scoop collection. All three albums were 2-disc sets, and in 2002 a pared-down compilation of them all was released as Scooped. Remastered versions of the original albums were released in 2006, and again in 2017.

As Townshend points out in his liner notes, Scoop 3 isn't quite the same as its two predecessors, since it has a healthy dose of recent material instead of being devoted to songs entirely from his large archive of demos and home recordings. As he notes, this new material is almost entirely instrumental because, "(W)ithout a 'commission' from the Who (or for my own solo career), I simply write less songs.

Like its predecessor, Another Scoop is a collection of 27 demos Pete Townshend recorded for the Who, and if anything, it surpasses the first volume in terms of quality

Pete Townshend, at his peak, was the greatest rock writer of his time. Better than Lennon/McCartney, better than Jagger/Richards, better than the Kinks' Ray Davies even though Townshend himself once said otherwise. I am saying at his PEAK, roughly from "Tommy" through "Who's Next," "Quadrophenia," "Who By Numbers" and "Who Are Yo. After Keith Moon died, Townshend's commitment to the Who wavered even more severely than it had in the glory years. But that's another story. I have SCOOP and have just purchased ANOTHER SCOOP. I've just listened to the latter for the first time and I think I'll go for SCOOP 3. Pete's compelling body of work is so compelling - all the best qualities are there.
