Night Train is an EP by English rock band Keane. The EP's title and material was born out of the group's Perfect Symmetry World Tour of 2008–2009. Night Train debuted at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart. The EP was recorded in various studios during the Perfect Symmetry World tour, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios. Tracks "Stop for a Minute" and "Looking Back" mark Keane's collaboration with Somali/Canadian rapper K'Naan.

Night Train takes most of its cues from that last album, but it also ventures into newer territory, featuring an ambient instrumental opening track as well as contributions from two R&B musicians (Somali hip-hop artist K’Naan and Japanese singer Tigarah). K’Naan’s presence isn’t limited to a mere cameo; he appears on two songs and actively steers both, turning Looking Back into a pop/funk/soft rock hybrid and bringing a sense Timberlake-ish digital pop to Stop for a Minute.

Likewise, even as critical tastes seem to shift on the fly, Keane remain something of a constant: Even if you've never heard a note of their music, you've almost certainly heard they're lame- the third-tier Coldplay that will never end up on a Jay-Z album. As if Keane really needed to expand upon their ill-advised career shift to 80s-influenced pop in Perfect Symmetry, here they drift even further away from the sound that millions of devoted fans learned to enjoy. This sounds nothing like that.

The eight tracks and 31 minutes of the Night Train EP/mini-album, recorded during the Pefect Symmetry tour, should sate the faithful. 70. As a transitional release, however, Night Train points to an even bigger and brighter future: it mostly sounds like a band happy to enjoy the freedom of chalking up 10 million album sales, and everyone else can take a running jump.
