Lamb of God (sometimes abbreviated as LoG) is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest, the group consists of bassist John Campbell, drummer Chris Adler, vocalist Randy Blythe, and guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler. The band is considered a significant member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement.

There's a lot more to 'The Duke' then just showing off two new songs and some live tracks  . Who would have thought that towards the end of 2016 that metal’s Lamb Of God would have released a brand new EP. There’s a lot more to The Duke then just showing off two new songs and some live tracks. The EP is actually a fundraiser to support the passing of fan (and dear friend) Wayne The Duke Ford, who passed away recently from cancer. The three live tracks Still Echoes, 512, and Engage the Fear Machine come right off the band’s previous record Sturm und Drang. There isn’t anything mind blowing about them, but an added extra flair for the hardcore fans. Title track The Duke comes.

The Silencing of a Lamb. Released in honor of Wayne Ford, a fan and a friend of the band who was diagnosed with leukemia and died in February 2015. Lamb of God wrote this song for Mr. Ford who was named after John Wayne (The Duke) and as far as I’m concerned they have done a fantastic job honoring Mr. Ford. The Duke’ is a great song with plenty of hooks and the opening riff is really something to behold. The song starts off heavy enough but moves into a slower pace for the first quarter. When it does kick in, the opening riff continues and the band just explodes with power. The second new song on the album is titled ‘Culling’. This is a more proper Lamb of God song with the hard beating rhythms and thrashing guitar. Mr. Blythe’s signature scream/growl is back and in fine form. The song is strong, filled with riffs and what a fan would expect of Lamb of God. This is followed by three live tracks from Lamb of God’s sets from Rock am Ring and Bonaroo, if you have ever seen Lamb of God live then you will know what to expect from these songs.
